Method & Costs

The treatment team of Imperium Autism Center consists of professional care providers such as behavioral experts, therapists and other specialized employees. They work together with external parties, taking into account both the individual needs of the child and the involvement of parents. The treatments and activities are tailored to the age of the child, with differentiation between the age groups of 2 to 8 years and 7 to 12 years.

Indication request

After the registration and intake form has been fully completed, it will be checked whether the child is a match with Imperium Autism Center.

If there is a match, the parents can immediately contact the youth team or the neighborhood team of the municipality for an indication request. Client support workers can support the parents with the (pgb) application if necessary.

Start of the treatment program

Observations and assessments

The treatment starts with extensive observations and behavioral analyses. The child’s strengths, challenges and needs are mapped out using measuring instruments such as Verbal Behavior-Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP). Based on the analyses of the measuring instruments, observations and discussions with those involved, a treatment program is drawn up for a period of one year. Every six months, the measuring instrument is filled in again to map the child’s progress.

Treatment and guidance

The treatment starts from the first session. Only when a plan has been made, the scores are recorded in a daily schedule.

As soon as the plan is completed, the treatment starts at Imperium Autism Center, outpatient or on location. The child is worked on learning goals per session. The progress is recorded and ultimately mapped out. Depending on the child’s development, new learning goals can be added in consultation with the parents or other parties involved when the old learning goals have been achieved.

Interim assessment

Imperium Autism Center will also regularly evaluate and adjust the treatment based on the child’s progress and the goals achieved. In this process, we will work closely with parents or caregivers to jointly determine which interventions and approaches best suit the individual needs of the child and the wishes of the parents.

Parent training

For parents of children with autism, regardless of the age of the child, parent training is an important and mandatory part of the treatment. Parents are involved in the treatment process and learn techniques and skills to reduce their child’s problem behavior and promote positive behavioral change. Parent training can help parents to better deal with the challenges associated with raising a child with autism and can strengthen the parent-child relationship and improve the child’s functioning.

Termination and cancellation

The treatment or guidance is terminated when the issued order expires or the client cancels the care agreement. The program can also be terminated when the intended goals are achieved and the child can develop without additional support. At Imperium Autism Center we use a cancellation period of one month. We also ensure a good transfer in the event of a referral.

Reimbursements and Indication

The treatment/guidance from Imperium Autism Center is reimbursed from the Youth Act (JW) or Long-term Care Act (WLZ) in the form of a personal budget (PGB). The intensity of the program is determined based on the nature of the problem and the request for help.

LANGUAGES

Guidance is mainly provided in Dutch and English. The staff of Imperium Autism Center can also provide treatment and guidance in other European languages.
